Samsing is a small yet village in the area of Dooars, at an elevation of around 3000 ft above sea level and falls under the Kalimpong district of West Bengal. The scenic spot is gifted with breath taking landscape, green tea gardens, hills and forests. The road to Samsing has to be taken from Siliguri after crossing Chalsa which is around 81 km in distance. The presence of mountains as well as rivers makes the landscape more beautiful. The small place is a hub of mixed cultures like Nepali, Tibetans etc whose festivals are celebrated very richly in Samsung.
The forest area of Samsing is home to several species of animals and birds. Some of the most found species are grey nightjar, slaty-backed forktail , greater racket-tailed drongo, orange-bellied leafbird, , greychinned, short-billed minivets, , ashy bulbul, yellow-vented, golden-spectacled, chestnut crowned warblers, maroon oriole , white-napped and also the black-chinned yuhinas.
